I had wanted to design these types of games since playing A Dark Room by Doublespeak games. The game and its design takes inspiration from many places. I used a few plugins, including Tooltipster – to help explain different modules in order to avoid a traditional tutorial, and Mousetrap – to enable keyboard shortcuts through JQuery. It will remain free to play and free of monetization. It is still in development, and will eventually include save-states through cookies, an over-world storyline, and more core features overall. It is an incremental game, which means it uses a small amount of elements to facilitate long-term play.
